As smart parking solutions gain momentum across Europe, Latvia has set a new benchmark with the introduction of its first fully digital pay-on-exit parking system. Rolled out in April 2025, the project was a joint effort between BISS, Snabb, and Verifone, combining payment technology, parking infrastructure, and digital connectivity across multiple locations in Riga.
Designed to support a variety of parking types—from shopping center parking to hotel guest parking and on-street paid parking—this solution reflects a new era of contactless parking that is seamless, scalable, and user-friendly.
In 2025, BISS implemented a barrier-based parking system powered by automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) and Verifone’s secure UX700 Android payment terminals. Across four distinct locations, BISS delivered and configured five payment kiosks and three pay-on-exit terminals, each customized with Snabb’s brand and logic.
The result is a flexible and fully integrated parking payment system that allows drivers to pay on-site or at the exit—without tickets, cash, or mobile apps. It’s a robust model that simplifies urban parking and enhances traffic flow in high-demand areas.
