Latvian State Forests Nature Park in Tērvete is one of Latvia’s most well-known nature and leisure destinations, welcoming families, school groups, tourists, and outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year. With visitor flow changing depending on the season, weekends, holidays, and weather, parking management needs to remain clear, reliable, and easy to use.
To support smoother daily operations, BISS implemented an automated parking management and payment system for Tērvete Nature Park. The solution uses license plate recognition, controlled access points, and self-service payments to create a more structured parking process for visitors and a more efficient operational setup for Latvian State Forests.
By simplifying the parking journey from arrival to departure, the system helps support a better visitor experience at one of Latvia’s most visited nature destinations.
In May 2026, BISS completed the implementation of an automated parking management and payment system for Latvian State Forests Nature Park in Tērvete.
The project included the delivery and installation of two entry control points and one exit control point, each designed to support automated vehicle access using license plate recognition. The access points are equipped with ANPR cameras, automatic barriers, and LED displays, creating a controlled and structured parking flow from arrival to departure.
As part of the solution, BISS also installed an FP-NGP-11 self-service payment station. The payment station is designed for autonomous parking payment processing and supports a multi-language user interface, which is especially important for a popular nature destination that welcomes many international visitors. It also supports modern cashless payment options, including credit and debit cards, contactless payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay.
The system manages parking sessions without the need for paper tickets or manual validation. This creates a simpler experience for visitors while supporting more efficient day-to-day parking operations for the park.
A key part of the implemented solution is its integration with the client’s Horizon accounting software. This helps connect parking payment data with internal accounting processes, supports more transparent payment tracking, and supports more efficient financial administration.
The solution was also adapted to Latvian State Forests’ IT infrastructure and cybersecurity requirements, ensuring that the parking system fits into the client’s existing infrastructure and operational standards.
In addition to the current parking payment functionality, the solution is prepared for future expansion, including the possibility to support ticket sales through the payment station and future product quantity accounting in Horizon.
