EVOPIPES is a Latvian manufacturer of polymer pipe systems, with production and warehouse operations in Jelgava. The movement of goods vehicles is part of daily operations at EVOPIPES, supporting the arrival and departure of cargo.
Managing these vehicles involves more than opening and closing the site barriers. Each arrival must be registered and coordinated with the relevant cargo status, while drivers need clear information about when they may enter, proceed through the site and leave.
BISS implemented an integrated warehouse transport flow management system based on the FidPark platform. The system combines self-service vehicle registration, number plate recognition, information displays and industrial barriers with EVOPIPES' Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment.
The project also put BISS self-service technology to a new use. For the first time in a BISS project, the technical platform of a paystation was adapted exclusively as a vehicle registration terminal, with no payment or ticketing functionality. The result is a self-service check-in process built specifically for an industrial logistics environment.
BISS completed the warehouse transport flow management project at the EVOPIPES site in Jelgava in August 2026. The implementation connects vehicle registration, number plate recognition, driver communication and automated access control with the cargo processes managed in EVOPIPES' Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment.
The project included four controlled access barriers for the wider lanes used by goods vehicles. The ELKA S8000 industrial barriers have six-metre arms, LED lighting and protective fencing above and below the arms. Six ANPR cameras recognise vehicle registration numbers as vehicles approach the controlled areas. Two LED displays show the recognised number and its access status, and two large-format LED displays present general instructions and transport flow information.
A dedicated self-service terminal allows drivers to register their vehicles on arrival. The terminal is based on the technical platform of a BISS paystation, but its interface, content and user flow were developed exclusively for registration, with no payment or ticketing functionality.
Once a driver registers, the information is sent to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and linked to the relevant cargo process. Microsoft Dynamics 365 and FidPark then exchange the information needed to track cargo status and manage vehicle access. When a vehicle is permitted to enter, its registration number and status appear on the relevant display and FidPark opens the entry barrier. Once the cargo process confirms the vehicle may leave, the driver receives an exit instruction and the corresponding barrier opens.
The bidirectional integration brings registration, cargo status, driver communication and physical access together in one workflow. It is also the first BISS project in which a paystation platform was adapted exclusively as a registration terminal.
